A quick look at the drinks of Scream 4.

While the Scream franchise is no stranger to using fake brands when characters are drinking, Scream 4 takes it to new levels. Again it makes sense that a brand wouldn’t necessarily want its product associated with underage drinking and being violently murdered, but they usually at least.

From having the characters mainly drink out of non-descript red solo cups, to a prominent bottle of tequila being clearly fake, here are the drinks of Scream 4.

Non-Descript Red Solo Cups

Two young men stand on a stage in front of a movie screen holding red solo cups.
Having everyone drink from red solo cups is both lame and accurate.

The major large group scene of the “teens” drinking at Stab-A-Thon has all the extras and characters drinking from boring old red solo cups. Is it beer? Is it punch?

Who knows, but it *is* a very cost-effective move, prop-wise.

Unnamed Vodka

Hayden Panettiere’s Kirby is awesome, one of the best characters in the Scream franchise just like her inspiration in Rose McGowan’s Tatum Riley. Unfortunately, she is not spared from the non-descript drinking choices in this film so she just sips on vodka with lemon.

Very Fake Prop Tequila

Fans debate over whether Erik Knudsen’s character is actually gay or if he just says he is as a last-ditched attempt to not get murdered to death. He does get sloppy drunk at a party while the straights hook up, which *is* a pretty gay thing to do at a high school party (I would know).

Anyway, I found this prop archived on the internet linked below:

Interestingly, Don Fernando does appear to be a real tequila company, but their products are expensive and look nothing like this. So file this in the fake prop booze category.
