Drink Identifier: Colossal (2016)

Colossal is a 2016 film about a woman (Anne Hathaway) battling her inner demons while also facing the challenges of becoming a giant rampaging monster in Seoul, Korea, and trying to escape local controlling fuckboy (Jason Sudeikis) who can also become a giant rampaging monster.

The film is high concept and probably an allegory for something or other. Anyway, here’s the booze the characters drink.

Pabst Blue Ribbon (Basically Every Character)

Almost every speaking character in the movie drinks PBR at some point. The only exceptions are some friends of alcoholic Gloria (Anne Hathaway). Notably, the *only* drink we see Anne Hathaway drink on screen is PBR.

Jack Daniel’s Whiskey, Schlitz, and PBR (Jason Sudeikis)

Jason Sudeikis plays fuckboy Oscar in Colossal (2016 film). Oscar throughout the film drinks progressively more and harder as he becomes an even bigger fuckboy after he learns he can become a giant robot.

Azunia Tequila and Broker’s Gin (Product Placement)

Okay, yes, all of these brands are probably product placement. But these two stick out as just product placement because A) None of the dirty alcoholic characters (i.e. all the characters) are seen drinking these products, and B) The camera pans slowly on their labels, all “look at me!” like.
